The merging of the Coop Server has enabled lots of the !help commands like !donate. However, one of the commands now enabled is causing problems for the server, and the people playing on it.

The !poll commands are being abused by players that want to skip the map without proper reasons. Some of them start a poll to skip the map because they are bored, others skip it because they don't know what to do. For those of us who do know what to do, it is not fair for them to start a poll in middle of the game when we are making progress through the mission. Not only do we have to stop and take time to type in !vote no, but it places an annoying strain on those of us actually trying to finish the map/mission. The people starting these polls are in the minority, and even though most people are effectively voting no, it's still irritating to have to have half your attention on the game and the other half watching the chat to make sure the player doesn't sneak a !poll skipmap while your busy fighting.

The old Renz0r server never had this, and I believe that making the maps non-skippable helped to maintain that unique challenge and fun of the server. This server is also not really hard to progress through the missions, unlike St0rm's Extreme Coop, where missions there under 5 or less people rarely succeed, let alone if you even have 10 people playing.

I think lots of the people starting the !poll skipmap votes also play from St0rm's server. What happens on St0rm (in very annoying ways) is that players have begun to !poll gameover over the map soon as it loads. Half of them do it just because they are too lazy to try, while the other half do it to gain rank. (Since every map you play on St0rm adds points to your rank on the server). This kind of mindset should not be tolerated here on the Exodus Coop Server. Unlike St0rm's server, Exodus has it's own frequent players on the server; [MC] Clan. Many of us log on all the time to play on the server, and we play until the very end, and I think that is a tradition to be proud of. Most of [MC] alone are each capable of helping the team to complete the map. There should be no reason ever to skip the map for the Exodus Coop Server. It isn't as hard as people think, and usually if you work your way forward through the map, you'll finish the objectives quite easily.

Please disable, or remove the commands to !poll skipmap. It is becoming a growing threat to the fun and enjoyment of the server, and trust me, I have seen this behavior on other servers like St0rm's Extreme Coop. Yeah, so the people who want to skip the map have something else to play, usually the maps are just as hard. Exodus' Coop Server isn't like the others. Skipping the map won't really get you anywhere. It's better to stick it out and just play it through.

I'm very adamant about this. Things are really good right now, but I see this !poll skipmap thing as becoming very unnecessary to the majority of us playing on the server. People know that this server is hard. Most of them know working through it is the best way to play. Last thing we need is that mindset being tainted by people that will constantly start polls to skip the map every 60 seconds.

I'll make it so that all players have to vote yes in order for the poll to pass.
That would fix it I think.

Meh, I removed the ability all together.
The options to edit the voting system are scattered around file here file there, etc.
So now only temp mods and up can use the command.
I'm sorry you had to go through that stuff.
I've seen people abuse it, but I thought it was an exceptional kind of behavior.

Because Exodus is still relatively new, then it is quite exceptional. However, the people doing it are quite content and seem to have the persistence to abuse it as seen on other servers.

Anyways though, thank you very much. ^^ The holidays are now that much safer for us all on Exodus Coop. =D
