As myself and other people here loves cooperative games, I started this thread in which you can post one if you know it.

Please post one or more games for each post, a link to the official site or a similar resource, and add a comment about how good it is for you if you tried it.

Let's keep this clean and only post games, posts with no game in them will be deleted until the list will be complete.

The game must be for PC, but can be so old that it only run on DOS, that's not a problem.

P.S.
I'll split these games into single posts later

P.P.S.
I actually found a page on wikipedia about this same topic, but I still want this thread to go on, because I want to hear opinion from people I know about these games.

I'll start:

Serious Sam: The First Encounter

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter

Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter

Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter

Websites:
http://www.seriouszone.com/
http://www.serioussam.com/

Comment:
Amazing COOP mode in which you can play the whole single-player campaign with up to 16 players in total. The HD version is a remake of the old titles with updated graphics and more multiplayer modes, but it requires Steam to be played and a pretty decent computer.
There's also a Serious Sam 2, but I'm not sure about the coop mode so I'll post about it when I know more.

Daikatana

Website:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daikatana

Comment:
The game had so much hype created around it that it's no surprise that it was killed by reviewers, for not fulfilling expectations. I found it a fun game afterall, but haven't tried the coop mode yet (my brother has some problems with games with outdated graphics :/), but you should be able to play the whole single-player campaign with a friend.

One game I have been playing recently (has been taking up my time for the last week since I installed it), has been Swat 4.

Truly a great Co-Op title. From my seven days of playing it over the last week, I have had some of the best Co-Op experiences in my life, falling short of my Co-Op experiences in Renegade of course.

To keep it short, basically you are an elite police officer, aka SWAT, and the point of the game is to go into dangerous situations where innocent lives are at sake, and baddies with guns are no longer willing to talk or play nice.

You got an entire arsenal of police weapons, armor, voice commands, and game controls to make you feel almost 99% percent like a real SWAT team member, and once you've gotten used to the basic game mechanics (how flashbang, CS Gas grenades, taser guns, how to arrest suspects, how to make suspects surrender, how to not get killed by suspects, etc..), you are more than ready to head online for the Co-Op experience.

Anything else to say about it? It is a great Co-Op game, it truly is. The maps are always the same, but the location of suspects and how they act are different each time. This makes each mission you play online very different, and increases the replayability factor. There are also other online modes where let you play against other human players, but since I don't like that style of gaming, I'll leave that for you to check out if your interested. Needless to say, this is a great Co-Op game. You feel immersed, the gameplay is quite nice, and although sometimes you get your share of standard jerks and idiots while playing on Co-Op servers, you generally can have a really great time busting the bad guys and working together with other human players on your side to clear the mission and save the day. =)

(PS. I currently have version 1.0 of SWAT 4, and I would love to play it with anyone from Exodus, or anyone that wants to talk to me about it, for that matter. Contact me through the forums, on the Exodus IRC channels, or at my email which is lordtnaismith-gaming [at] hotmail [dot] com, Co-Op gaming forever! +D)

In about 4 hours a free game on Steam will be unlocked: http://store.steampowered.com/app/630/

That's a remake of a game made by the same developers of Left 4 Dead, being released for free for everyone.

The game includes Single Player, Multi Player and COOP modes, Achievements, full source code, and all for free.

It should run on any decent computer, it just requires Shader Model 2 so TNaismith should be able to play it :D

So, let's download it and see if it's good or not, and if it is then we'll be able to play some coop together :)

I actually just read about this game from an article on Co-optimus less than two days ago, and it's funny to see how fast news makes it's way around here. xD

I was actually going to post and say 'Sorry guys, monster-gore-zombie kind of co-op games aren't my thing, the next thing I hate besides PvP games, is any game with a 'morbid-monster-zombie-gore' to it, Left4Dead would count here, but Gears of War 2 wouldn't.

However, I then saw the trailer video for this game, and I realized it doesn't look at bad, it's not 'morbid scary' like in Left4Dead, it feels and looks more strictly military-like and for that it appeals to me more. The fact the camera angle is from 'top-down' reminds me of an RTS game, and it makes the monsters/aliens less freakish for me. =)

In other words, I'm downloading this now. =D (Although isn't Shader Models 2 the same thing as Pixel Shaders, a feature only available through graphics cards? Remember, I currently run on a computer with no graphics cards whatsoever, so perhaps this is the fatal flaw. I'll download and let you know if it works though. This does seem pretty awesome to play with four of us from Exodus. =D )

EDIT: "Game is being unlocked in 2 hours" Moly Mack. Wasn't expecting that. xD Gotta wait then. :P

Shader Model is a technology that includes Vertex Shader, Pixel Shader and the Unified Shader model that has been introduced in Shader Model 4 and beyond (no more Vertex and Pixel shaders, Unified Shaders can do both things now). So by talking about "Shader Model 2", that includes graphics cards which supports Vertex and Pixel shader 2.0 and higher, so your one should be enough for it.

Also remember that having an on-board graphics chip counts as having a graphics card, as without a graphics card you wouldn't be able to see anything on screen (and have no connector for your monitor too lol), so you actually have one and I hope it's enough to play this game.

I think they delayed the game for 3 more hours :<

Tried to play it just now; have tried the offline mode, and tried joining at least ten different public games -- entire things crashes to desktop anytime I'm about to actually load gameplay graphics. Offline practice leads immediately to the desktop, joining a public server shows the 'connection loading' screen, but soon as that finishes, it's back to the desktop.

Guess the answer is no. :(

Try Might & Magic 6-7, part 7 being one of my favorite games of all times and probably the best open world game I've played. However, the graphics are quite dated and the mechanics are fairly old school, so not everyone has the patience to play it these days. Also music is crazy good.
